There are literally millions of apps available today, from music to banking, that help people perform specific tasks.
With schools & colleges shut due to the coronavirus outbreak & the extra free time on your hands, I am sure you have browsed through one or more of these apps.
Have you ever wondered who made them?
People who create such apps, known as developers, are high in demand.
Today, from a job security and job growth standpoint, it’s one of the best careers someone could possibly imagine being in. But we need to ensure we plan at least 5 or 10 years from today, from the day you will graduate or complete your post-graduation. So let’s find out more about this career & its future prospects…
What does a Mobile App Developer do?
An app developer is a computer software engineer whose primary responsibilities are:
– Creating
– Testing
– Programming
Mobile app development is a little different from general software development. Here resources such as memory compute cycles, storage and bandwidth are both scarce and precious. They follow the following process:
– Developers first choose the operating system (or mobile platform) such as Google’s Android or Apple’s iOS
– They then use programming languages such as Java and C++ to develop the necessary specifications for software
– Once an app is complete and goes into production, the app developer works on creating patches (upgrades) that are periodically released to the public
What are the Future Prospects of a Career in Mobile App Development?
A career in mobile app development presents an excellent opportunity to try new things and satisfy your curiosity.
Developers can freelance or work full-time/part-time for small, medium, and large-sized companies. The apps they develop allow people to complete tasks, consume content, and interact with brands and other people.
As the world continues to rely on mobile phones & the demand for simplified apps increases, the future looks bright for mobile app developers. It is important to keep upgrading, learning new upcoming technologies, and staying updated to stay competitive in this industry.
